Do you use paddles in practice (going slow)

No I don't but I've earlier borrowed some from time to time from some teammates. And I just got home from practice 2-3 hours ago, and there I discovered a problem that has been there for quite some time now. Its about my legwork, precisely my feet. I tend to get a lot of pain when swimming many series with 'webbed feet' (?) at the joint of my feet. For about a year now, our pool have been drained because of leakage, and we are currently training 15 km from our pool at another team. And the 'Webbed feet' (?) at this facility are very, like soft, and sloppy, and Im not used to that kind of feet, can this be the cause of the pain that I feel when when using 'webbed feet'?

David. :-)

Are you referring to fins/flippers? Like these?

TYR CrossBlade Training Fin at SwimOutlet.com

Yes, they could definitely be causing joint pain in your ankles, especially if your ankles aren't very flexible. Look online for some exercises to increase ankle flexibility, or perhaps try shorter fins (the ones I linked to above are great).

Flexibility in the ankles is definitely a must in swimming! Check out this video about the timing of the kick and how the kick should be performed:

Thanks andy, that helped.

Just got home from a weekend competition and I've got video footage of me swimming. I dont have them on my computer yet, but I'll send the clip as soon as I get it.
