Default Tips for younger children how to swim:

Tips for teaching younger children how to swim:

1.Provide a warm water environment - 80° F and above.
2.Enter the pool slowly, immersing the child to chest high.
3. Standing still, use a "hug hold" and gently rock child.
4.Using the "hug hold," move around the pool slowly.
5.Gently move child away from you, establish eye contact.
6.With the water chest high, use a gentle left-to-right "swishing" to move the child.
7.Smile and encourage the child as you slowly increase the size of the "swish."
8.Allow the water to touch the side of the child's face.
