We have actually thought of a private coach. We had a coach with the team that is still in the area, that was not interested in being head coach and working with a parent board. She was excellent and my daughter really liked her. Location is somewhat of an issue, as pool space and time is the issue we would face with private coaching...where and when does she train? We don't want to be premature and leave the team. If things can be discussed with the current coach, to better understand what her goals are for our daughter and her plan to help her achieve them, and she better understand our daughter and the need to communicate her plan to her, that would be the ideal solution. Thanks again!

My husband and I had dinner with our coach a couple of weeks ago and discussed the issues our daughter was having. She was very receptive and told us she had never coached someone so young that was so focused and driven. She said our daughter asks questions and inquires about things that kids don't usually care about until they are 13 or 14, so it's something that is new to her. My daughter has been coming home from practice very happy...saying it's been hard and challenging, so practice is fun again. Thanks for all your advice.
