I definitely respect her as a swimmer, and I absolutely love her work ethic. However, right now that is all being overshadowed with a few articles of negative press. I am hoping that nothing comes out of that since she truly deserves full recognition for her accomplishments!

What kind of negative press did she get? I must have missed it? What was said about her?

There were thoughts/opinions/rumors going around that she was taking steroids in order to compete at that level. In my opinion, these opinions and articles were completely off-base.

I haven't heard anything else at this point with regard to those articles, so I would assume them to be negated at this point.

It's a shame that nowadays, people automatically assume a great athlete is on drugs. People have said things about Phelps, and it's completely false. I think that unfortunately, there is some opinion bleeding over ng from a few other sports where doping has unfortunately proven to be widespread - Track and Field to name one. It's sad things like that were said about Dara. It's like people just don't want to accept that she could have been so good at 41, while I believe her performance just proved that a swimmer can be.

My opinion on the issue is that if she was using steroids (which I firmly do not believe she was) she did a great job hiding it with the full "team" of trainers and coaches that she had with her. My hat comes off for Dara and all that she has accomplished!

She did look "ripped" & "buffed" in some of her Motherly photo shoots tho.

And this implies doping? Not working out and proper diet?
