Default Just found this site today

I'm new to routine swimming.
I've surfed, so I have some idea and I've stayed in decent shape playing hockey for a few decades, but I couldn't believe how hard it was to swim two lengths the first time this year.

It took me almost a minute before I had the strength to pull myself out of the pool.

My question as a newbie is, how long between lengths or laps do I need to rest at 58 yrs old?
I tried to keep my heartrate at 144 bpm, today.
This is the third time I've swum this week and started doing so this week.

The first time I referenced above where I was gasping for breath was over 3 months ago.

If you would like, I have an energy level document that explains all of the heart rate stuff...you can e-mail or private message me if you're interested.

Default New to site

I am learning breast stroke and would like to know more information. My friends Mike Everio, Christopher Freville and Alison Sharman have all been in team and they first won a swimming competition on 22nd January 2004. Any advice would be helpful
